Virgin Atlantic aims to operate one of the youngest fleet of aircraft in the world. They have begun another stage of this development with the recent delivery of two new Airbus A340-600s, and have another 8 on order. Virgin Atlantic have also ordered another new Boeing 747-400 aircraft, due to have been delivered in 2003 and six Airbus A380s, due to be delivered from 2006.

Virgin Atlantic is the second largest long haul airline in the UK and the third largest European carrier over the North Atlantic. virgin Atlantic's route network has grown rapidly to include destinations in the US, Caribbean, Far East, India and Africa, and they have won virtually every award the industry has to offer.
